Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer Punta Arenas to Rio Penitente
Transfer from Punta Arenas airport to Hosteria Rio Penitente (about a one hour drive).

Founded by the Scottish pioneer Alexander Morrison in 1891 and to this day administered by his descendants, this Patagonian sheep farm in its old world setting provides a sharp contrast to the raw beauty of the pampas and southern beech forests around it. Accommodation is in the comfortable and well preserved Victorian house with just eight bedrooms, all with private bathrooms and fire places.

It is located beside the abundant trout filled waters of the Rio Penitente, perfect for fishermen with brownies of between 600g and 1 kg on a catch and release basis. It is also very suitable for non-fishing partners with hiking, horseriding and ranch demonstrations also available.

Comfortable en suite accommodation with dinner in the cosy restaurant serving a variety of local and home-reared produce. Dinner only (wine/drinks available at extra cost).
