Is this trip for me?
This trip is suitable for novice kayakers who are happy around water, prepared to get wet and are used to travelling in remote areas.
Accommodation is in tents for three nights so you should enjoy camping.
The trip is guided throughout by experienced wilderness kayak guides with all the details taken care of including meals.
Double and single kayaks are available
Most of the paddling is on calm waters but there are two rapids on the descent
There is a 1,000 metre portage on Day 2 of the itinerary so kayakers need to be fairly fit and able bodied
Weather in all of Patagonia is unpredictable so you need to travel with a flexible attitude and be prepared for itinerary changes which will be imposed if the guide feels the safety of the group would be compromised by continuing with the scheduled itinerary
If you are renting a car we can provide a driver to move your car from Cochrane to Caleta Tortel at the end of the trip, prices on request.
Includes
Single and double kayaks with rudder and full equipment (paddle, buoyancy aid, long wetsuit, neoprene boots and gloves, spray jacket and safety gear)
