This trip starts in el Calafate. We will collect you either from the bus station (buses arrive daily from Puerto Natales if you are coming from Chile) or the airport to start the trip.

Private transfer to the Hotel Kapenke or similar (3* Hotel). After lunch and checking into your hotel, you can spend some time relaxing in this quaint mountain town with its cute shops and cafes before being picked up for the drive out to a local estancia, Estancia Cerro Frias. This is a beautiful estancia with great views from high above the town. You will be offered a choice of activities that include horse riding, mountain biking or 4x4 off road driving. After enjoying your time here, you will be dropped off in el Calafate at your hotel. Dinner at leisure in town.

After breakfast, you will be collected by your guide for a full day excursion to the awesome Perito Moreno Glacier with ice hiking included.

Just far enough from the bounds of civilization and urban dwellings of Calafate, veiled by towering mountains and an expansive lake, the Perito Moreno Glacier epitomizes the natural beauty and splendor of Argentina. Unique in a variety of facets, including its size, scientific significance, and accessibility, the glacier is an essential stop for any visitor to Patagonia.

You will have plenty of time exploring the wonder of the natural spectacle as you explore the wooden walkways with its breathtaking views of ice and water before donning crampons and walking out onto the ice itself exploring the ice caverns and crevices from up close.

The Moreno Glacier is one of the largest glaciers in south America with ice walls that tower over 200 verticle feet from the ground (60 metres) where the ice meets Lake Argentina: taller than a 15 story building. It is also of scientific significance as it is one of the few remaining advancing glaciers in the area, said to be 'growing' at a rate of about seven feet a day.

Afternoon return to Calafate for more exploring and a chance to relax.

After an early breakfast you will be collected by your driver and taken across the Argentine pampas crossing the river Santa Cruz and with luck spotting the Viedma glacier and views of today's destination: the peaks of Fitzroy and the Los Glaciares National Park.

Founded in 1937 the Glacier National Park is located in the southwestern segment of the Santa Cruz region of the Argentinean Patagonia. With its towering peaks, the most prominent of which is Mount Fitzroy at 3,405 metres, the Park offers a fantastic natural landscape consisting of lakes, forests, granite mountains and glacial structures. An obvious draw to hikers, horseback riders and climbers who all assemble in the nearby el Chalten village.

You will be dropped off at your hotel by your driver and will meet your guide to decide on the day's hike.

There are lots of opportunities for wildlife spotting and short walks in the area so the day can be kept completely flexible depending on both the weather and energy levels.

Afternoon return to your Hotel in el Chalten (3* hotel such as the Hotel Lunajuim). Breakfast and Lunch included, dinner at leisure. Accommodation based on twin share with en suite facilities.

After breakfast, private transfer back to Calafate. Clients can be dropped at the airport or their hotel.
