Immersive travel in Chile and Argentina

At BlueGreen Adventures, we believe Slow Travel is about immersing yourself in wild landscapes, disconnecting from daily pressures, and creating space for meaningful experiences. From Patagonia’s vast backcountry to the surreal Atacama Desert, we help you slow down, connect deeply with nature, and discover local culture through food, music, wellness, and personal encounters. Whether it’s paddleboarding calm Patagonian lakes; practicing yoga in Torres del Paine; or exploring offbeat roads; our journeys combine wilderness, authenticity, and restorative travel.

Offbeat and wilderness

Immersing oneself in wild areas is profoundly important for both physical and mental well-being offering a crucial respite from the relentless pace of modern life. Many of our guests are increasingly looking for wild experiences for themselves or their family that gets them away from beeping phones and into the backcountry or hinterland. These immersions lay the groundwork for creating important family memories and stronger connections to each other and oneself. They also foster empathy and understanding of different cultures and points of view which results in a more worldly approach to life and a deeper appreciation of the environment.

Wild places in Chile and Argentina

Chile and Argentina, particularly Patagonia, contain vast and accessible wilderness areas for those seeking to escape the confines of urbanisation and technology. In Chile, the dramatic landscapes of Torres del Paine provide an expansive playground for explorers, adventurers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Tierra del Fuego is wilder still and largely untouched. The Atacama Desert, one of the driest places on Earth, offers a surreal environment where visitors can disconnect while gazing at the stunning night skies.

Argentina’s Patagonia region, with its sprawling glaciers, pristine lakes, and towering peaks offers countless opportunities for isolation and solitude. Iguazu Falls, shared by Argentina and Brazil, is an awe inspiring natural wonder that provides a powerful reminder of the majesty and tranquility found in nature.

For road trippers, the Carretera Austral in Chile, Highway 40 in Argentina and Chile’s Tierra del Fuego offer a chance to linger in some truly off grid and remarkable empty places.

Both countries have made significant investments in preserving these natural spaces, ensuring they remain unspoiled and accessible. Initiatives such as the creation of new national parks, the expansion of protected areas and the promotion of sustainable tourism demonstrate a commitment to maintaining these wilderness areas for future generations.

In a world where densely populated cities and constant connectivity have become the norm, the wild, untamed landscapes of Chile and Argentina provide a vital antidote, offering the peace and rejuvenation that only nature can provide.

Classic routes with a twist

We like to add a BlueGreen twist to some of our more classic routes. This might be a cookery demonstration added to a private family trip or a massage and yoga session tagged on to the end of a long hike such as the Patagonian Circuit.

Local connections

With our local knowledge and years of experience, we like to go the extra mile to offer something extraordinary to our guests. Many of our trips are private which means we can lace the trip with unique encounters, exclusive activities and personal touches: learning new skills; adding wellbeing options and treatments; chartering a boat to access those hard to reach wild places and adding wine tasting or folklore music or dance are among the many options that can all be discussed during the planning stages of your trip.

In order to fully immerse yourself in Patagonia, these personal and unique connections make the difference between a good experience and a great one. Designed under the guidance of those who call this wild terrain home, you will get to hike the world famous Torres del Paine W or Circuit in a sustainable and socially responsible way that creates unforgettable memories for you and your family or friends.

Slow Travel Activities

Paddleboarding

Winter in Patagonia brings windless days and glassy waters, making it the perfect season for paddleboarding, which is becoming a popular activity in Torres del Paine.

Volunteering and giving back

Ecotourism is about creating meaningful connections with the places we visit: conserving natural environments, minimizing our footprint, and supporting local communities. From community initiatives to estancias seeking volunteers during the busy season, we can help you make your journey both memorable and impactful.

Yoga and wellbeing

Heal body and mind while discovering one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations. Combine yoga or spa rituals with the awe-inspiring landscape of Torres del Paine.
