This unique eight-day multi-sport trip is aimed at lovers of the outdoors and adventurers. Hike the famous Paine W; explore the gulleys and caverns of a massive valley glacier; and paddle into remote waterways and lakes in kayaks

Day by day

  1. Puerto Natales to Las Torres. Hike the challenging trail to the base of the Towers. Camping Las Torres. Meals eaten in refugio. 
    Packed lunch and dinner included.
  2. Hike west along the W trail to Los Cuernos in the shadow of the famous Horns of Paine. Camping Los Cuernos with meals eaten in refugio.
    All meals included.
  3. Hike up into the magnificent granite cirque known as French Valley. Camping Paine Grande with meals eaten in refugio.
    All meals included.
  4. Hike north to Glacier Grey. Afternoon kayak up close to a towering valley glacier. Camping Grey with meals eaten in refugio.
    All meals included.
  5. Morning spent ice hiking on Grey Glacier exploring the gulleys and crevices of this immense glacier. Camping Grey with meals eaten in refugio. 
    All meals included.
  6. Take Grey III boat to the beach end. of Grey Lake. Transfer to the Serrano River. Night camping riverside.
    All meals included. 
  7. Paddle down Serrano River in kayaks through the isolated and inaccessible Bernardo O’Higgins National Park. Wild camp with few or no facilities. 
    All meals included with wine at dinner.
  8. Paddle to Balmaceda and Puerto Toro. Meet boat which will whisk you across the fjords with a stopover for a delicious estancia lunch. Arrive at the boat dock in Puerto Natales. Transfer into town where the trip ends.

Accommodation

  • 7 nights camping with meals in refugio or quincho (wooden dining structure)

  • Flights; airport taxes; gratuities; getting to Puerto Natales to start the trip

Extras

We can upgrade accommodations to either refugios (basic mountain refuges) or hotels. Please ask for availability and prices. 

Is this trip for me?

  • This unique multi-activity trip includes hiking of the full W trail, ice hiking on Grey Glacier with crampons and ice axes and kayaking down the Serrano River out of Torres del Paine with nights wild camping.
  • As this trip is camping throughout you should be prepared for the rigours of camping and used to travelling in fairly remote areas (upgrades possible on request).
  • The hiking on this trip is moderate – challenging and you should be fairly fit.
  • Terrain is rocky and boggy on some of the trails and the last section of the hike to the base of the Towers is a climb over glacial moraine.
  • No experience is necessary for the ice hiking or kayaking but you should be fairly adventurous and most importantly have a flexible attitude as weather sometimes scuppers our plans.
  • Please make sure you pack accordingly, clothing list provided on request.
  • Age Limit: We can accept clients between the ages of 14 and 70 on this trip.
  • Older hikers are welcome to join us but we reserve the right to request completion of a medical suitability questionnaire. In addition for the kayaking, older participants will require some previous open water experience
  • Option to shorten the trip and so reduce costs, contact us for details.
  • Porters are not included as standard but can be added on request, ask for costs.
  • Hotels are not included in Puerto Natales but can be added on request
